Sigtunarännet
Sigtunarännet is an ice skating race on Mälaren with start and finish in Sigtuna. The race takes place on controlled/maintained natural ice. Big parts of the track is ploughed during the whole winter, but the distance varies due to the weather conditions.
Sigtunarännet comes in four different distances: Full Distance (50 km), Half Distance (25 km), Ice Cross Challenge (several heats of 350 m) and the Treasure Hunt (approx 500 m). It’s primarily a race for exercise but has also a competition class sanctioned by the Swedish Ice Skating Comity.
